I am originally from Llangennech in West Wales. I have lived in Michaelston-le-Pit since 1997 and been a councillor since 2011. My wife and I were teachers and local government officers including, in my case, periods as a Director of Education, a member of the School Teachers’ Review Body for England & Wales and a Senior Director for the National Strategies in England (School Improvement). I am now fully retired but continue to be involved in the education service as a school governor. I am best known locally as the proud owner of “Alys” a good natured Short Haired German Pointer, with whom I enjoy walking in the area.
