I am originally from Llangennech in West Wales. I have lived in Michaelston-le-Pit since 1997 and been a councillor since 2011. My wife and I were teachers and local government officers including, in my case, periods as a Director of Education, a member of the School Teachers’ Review Body for England & Wales and a Senior Director for the National Strategies in England (School Improvement). I am now fully retired but continue to be involved in the education service as a school governor. I am best known locally as the proud owner of “Alys” a good natured Short Haired German Pointer, with whom I enjoy walking in the area.

I have lived in Leckwith for thirteen years and am very content to remain here as I really like the area and its inhabitants. I am very busy looking after our dogs, cats, goats, ponies and chickens. These are mostly rescue animals. My other hobbies are gardening, Egyptology and genealogy. I have just retired as Chairman of the Council but will continue as a councillor.

I attended Barry Boys Comprehensive and I have lived my formative life in South Wales. I have 30 years of experience leading and managing international technology companies usually venture capital backed. I travel extensively with current role as a CEO of an international technology business mainly in the USA and Europe. I am interested in rugby, cycling, walking and a bit of gardening and I am also interested in renewal energy and the environment. I have lived in MLP for more than ten years and I love the scenery and walks it offer as well as the abundant wildlife.

I grew up on Dartmoor where I enjoyed a great childhood of roaming the moors with dogs and horses. I have lived in Michaelston le Pit for 13 years and continue to enjoy roaming the woods and fields with my two dogs.
I have been a counsellor for 7 years and have enjoyed working on small projects around the villages.
I and my husband are now retired, though we are put to work caring for our grandchildren.

I have lived in the community for most of my life and since 1983 at Beggan Farm, Leckwith. I am married to Andy. We have a herd of organic Welsh Black cattle and we also run a furniture business. I have two grown up sons. I am interested in history, environmental matters and conservation, though most of my spare time is spent attempting to tame our garden.
